Hot fix embellishments are available in a wide selection of shapes - and these change often. The traditional "jewel" cut (Navette, Marquoise, etc) have been a standard for decades. The newest trend is geometrically cut crystals. The first were introduced as Cosmic crystals. You just hold the tip on top of the crystals. The thick crystals do take more time - make sure they are on securely. Allow the crystal to cool to touch, then make sure all edges are attached.
Solution: for all smaller hot fix items, hand place them and use the solid metal Hot Spot tip that is enclosed with every BeJeweler tool. For larger items, use the 18mm Cluster tip. It can be purchased separately. Use this same method to apply hot fix nailheads, etc. Hold the tip on top of the crystal. The thick crystals do take more time. To make sure they are on securely, allow the crystal to cool to touch, then make sure all edges are attached.
Rhinestuds: These are aluminum metal trimmings formed with edges to simulate crystal "faceting." They have a limited amount of sparkle and are usually used for inexpensive, casual clothing and items. To apply with the BeJeweler match the tip size with the rhinestud size. Since these are very thin metal, as soon as you pick up the rhinestud, you need to apply it. Use a very light touch to pick up and apply (see video below). These do work with the rhinestuds we sell, but since there are so many different manufacturers and the sizes as well as the glue can vary, there is no guarantee the BeJeweler can pick up other brands.
